Our Cause

Yolanda Matala, lead project manager, and MC Mgobozi, operations director.

We currently have 13 participants, 12 of which are women.

Global Goddess is for-profit so that we can support our non-profit microfinance company in South Africa. Vuk Zenzele offers zero interest loans coupled with business training and mentorship to empower mostly women entrepreneurs in Cape Town.

Our current cohort consists of 13 participants (12 of which are women). Each entrepreneur has received a loan of up to R5000 (approximately $300). Their industries range from event planning to clothing resale to fresh cooked fish. Each participant has created their own repayment plan based on their needs. This flexible funding, coupled with personalized training and mentorship, is a powerful opportunity for these participants to grow their businesses and support their families. With South Africa’s unemployment rate sits at about 40%, entrepreneurship is vital for success in their economy.

We work directly with locals who are passionate about making a positive impact in their community. Vuk Zenzele has one paid employee, Yolanda Matala, who is a recent female graduate from the Tertiary School in Business Administration (TSIBA) and is the lead project manager. MC Mgobozi, a well-known and respected business leader from Lanaga, is the main operations director and conducts the training and mentorship for participants. Peter Kraan, former CFO of TSIBA, serves as the financial director.

By buying ethically-made and sustainably-sourced products from Global Goddess, you are directly contributing to our mission to empower women entrepreneurs in South Africa.
